Open source or "off the shelf" CMS's such as Wordpress and Drupal can reduce the need for costly site maintenance, empowering users to manage their own content. There are many open-source CMS development options available on the market, offering different levels of functionality. It is however important to carefully consider both the advantages and disadvantages before investing in an Open Source CMS.
